Trick or Treat-ment

Our bodies play tricks on us when we have issues at hand, and a chiropractic ‘treat’ment is just what you need! Chiropractors are all about taking care of your bones! Your bones provide the physical structure of who you are, and it is very important to take care of them to avoid all the scary things that can happen. We all know about things such as fractures, arthritis, and Osteoporosis; but the one thing that scares chiropractors the most is subluxations!

Subluxations are bones that are out of place causing nerve interference, and it is what I am always on the lookout for. They can cause a lot of issues: pain, numbness, tingling, spasms, and they even lead to degeneration. Now is the time to bring your own skeleton in to get checked, as chiropractic adjustments are the only way to reduce the subluxations and keep your nervous system functioning at its best!

While maintaining your skeleton with regular chiropractic care is obviously important for the health of your bones, it is equally important for the function of your immune system. Studies show up to a 200x increase in immune cell production following a chiropractic treatment! As we move into cold and flu season, it is important now more than ever to have your immune system working at its best. As temperatures drop and the air dries out, it is much easier to breathe in infectious agents such as bacteria and viruses. Instead of hibernating all winter to avoid these things, you can prepare your immune system with regular chiropractic care, as well as increase your intake of all the essential vitamins and minerals that help you prosper!

While almost all vitamins and minerals are good for the overall function of your body, some specific ones really help your immune system. The most noteworthy is vitamin D. Vitamin D is commonly known to be one of the most important supplements we can take, as it has a variety of ways it helps our body maintain its health, including giving us a big immune boost. In addition, we like to supplement with minerals such as zinc and selenium, herbs such as echinacea and elderberry, and baseline gut support such as amino acids and probiotics. If you do catch a cold, we may recommend added anti-viral remedies such as silver, garlic, olive leaf, or a custom blend of herbs. As always, your health still starts with your diet and lifestyle: keeping up with your green veggies, citrus fruits, nuts, and water intake, in addition to sleeping well and staying active; will always be the best choices for your health. Ask today about what changes you can make in your diet and supplement protocols so that we can help you live your life in your sweet spot!

Yours in health, Dr. J.
